El cuerpo humano III- The human body III. Explicación sencilla de los sentidos

LOS SENTIDOS         THE SENSES

We experience the world that surrounds us through the senses.

We have five senses, all of them are very important.

* El olfato.
  Smell.

We smell through our nose.

Inside the nose there´s the pituitary gland, which takes the information of what we smell to the brain through the olfactory nerve.

¡We can smell more than a hundred thousand smells!

* El gusto.
  Taste.

Taste lets us know the food we eat. That is why we know if we like a meal or not!

The organ in charge of this is our tongue.
It has something called taste buds. These send the information of the food we eat to the brain.
Our taste buds can perceive four different flavours: sweet, salty, bitter and acid.

* El tacto.
  Touch.

Thanks to the touch we can perceive the temperature, texture or shape of an object.
We perceive all these thanks to the biggest organ in our body... the skin!

* La vista.
  Sight.

It lets us see everything that surrounds us thanks to the eyes.
The eye perceive the information which will be taken to the brain through the optic nerve.

* El oído.
  Hearing.

It´s the sense that lets us know the sounds we hear.
The organs that do that function are the ears.

El cuerpo humano II - The Human Body II

The locomotor system allows us to move. It is the structure of our whole body and it gives us support to stand in our feet.
It is made up of: the bones, the joints and the muscles.

Bones are hard and rigid. They make up the skeleton.
Bones help to support, move and, protect our body (they protect the heart, lungs and brain).

A joint is the place where 2 or more bones come together.
Joints help us bend and move our body.

Muscles are soft and elastic.  They can stretch and contract.

This link from the BBC explains the bones and the muscles in a very simple way!

El cuerpo humano I - The Human Body I

Hola chicos,

Our body has got three parts: the head, the trunk and the limbs.

The human body- 3D

Hey there!
I found a web in which you can take a tour on all the human systems and organs.
They also have short explanations about each of them, it´s cool!

Podéis leer o escuchar explicaciones, explorar, hacer experimentos...

¡Que la disfrutéis!

New video! Animals and their young ones.

This video I made shows you the names of different animals as well as the name of their babies. Why? Basically because I think it´s necessary not only to know the basic vocab but also to know some more, in this case this vocab is very useful for lots of situations, for example: when you go to a zoo!
Please, pay attention on how to pronounce the words and most importantly: Enjoy!😉
